Chase sat on the floor of her and Mason's apartment as her toddler ran around giggling, his dark hair running wild as he did so. Tyler was the child's name, Tyler James Monroe. Chase's smile was huge, it almost appeared as if her face might crack under the pressure of it. It was safe to say she'd never been happier ever, of course she would be happier if Tyler was to sit still so that she might actually put some clothes on him. "Tyyylerrr." She said grabbing the boy as he ran past her again. He giggled in her arms as she pressed her lips to the fine dark hair on top of his head. Her baby boy had the sweetest laughter, it made her so happy to hear. Chase pulled him tight against her chest and rocked him gently as the boy squirmed in her arms, still giggling happily. "Tyler what am I going to do with you?" she laughed a little and let him go like a wind-up toy, and once more he ran around the living room.
She pushed herself to her feet, watching the miniature human being look so innocent and happy. If only he could be like that all the time, Chase hated when he cried more than anything in the entire world, more than fighting with Mason and even crying herself. Whenever she heard him cry her heart ached and felt as though it was breaking in a million tiny pieces. She bit her lip gently and watched as his run slowed and he hugged her leg tightly. Her arms moved down and picked him up carefully. "Ready to get dressed?" she asked him, although it didn't really matter he'd be getting dressed no matter what. Chase hummed quietly as she walked towards Tyler's room; she held him securely to her hip as she walked, not wanting to make the mistake of holding him too loosely. As it turned out, Tyler had become quite the daredevil. He did, what Chase believed, to be anything that would scare the panties off of her. Tyler would jump off of the couch and climb on high surfaces, and to be quite frank, she believed it'd begun to take years off of her lifespan.
Her mind wondered back to other important things, she set Tyler into his crib so that he wouldn't run away. Chase turned around and began searching for something to put on him. "Mama." she heard him whine from his crib, Chase turned around and smiled at him after she'd pulled out something for him to wear. "It'll all be over soon. I'll let you out when I get clothes on you." Honestly she didn't care if he got dressed, she personally thought he looked adorable in his diaper but she didn't want him to get cold... so perhaps she did care quite a bit... It didn't take her long to dress him, if you didn't count the times he tried to squirm out of her grip. After she finished he was off running again, only this time clothed.

it was so odd for mason to think that three years had passed since he had been reunited with the love of his life. it was also odd to him that they had had children. he had been afraid of having babies since he was just a kid.. what if he turned out like his mother and step-dads? what would he do with himself if he hurt them or couldn't provide for them? he had always thought of love as over-rated and made up because the only people he had ever 'loved' had either beat the thought out of him, or had been torn apart from him, and yet he was head over heels in it, and he couldn't really imagine his life at this point in time any different. he couldn't see himself with rory any longer, because chase was just so perfect to him. mason often self-reflected on the years in his past and realized just how much he had done wrong, and why he had. mason had learned the hard way that sadness did a lot to a person, even if you didn't recognize it as sadness. for mason, sex and alcohol had been a way for him to escape his sadness, and once he found the puzzle piece to fill that hole in his heart with sunshine where the sadness had once been.. well, it could easily be said that chase and tyler were his little pieces of sunshine.
as of right now, mason was driving home from work. numerous profanities and rude hand gestures flew from his car. he couldn't help it. being on the road really irritated him sometimes usually. he had come to the conclusion that he really should be banned from the road before someone got seriously hurt.. that someone would probably be him. he'd run someone off the road and get in trouble, or get himself run off the road, and surely that wouldn't be a good idea for him or for his family. mason was pretty positive he wouldn't be of any help to chase or tyler if he was in jail, so he had progressively started trying to hold back the words that shot through his mind when he was driving. back before his baby boy was born, there was no sense of self control when he was angry and on the road. this is why he had preferred walking for so long, but now he couldn't avoid it. walking to work wasn't an option, driving was the only one he had. he looked up at the apartment buildings as he calmed himself down, pulling into the spot that himself and chase had been assigned when they had moved in.
he turned the key and the ignition shut off as he climbed out of the small car, letting the door slam. he didn't bother unlocking it, there wasn't anything valuable in it. mason hurried up the stairs, rather excitedly. he loved coming home and seeing his two favorite people in the whole world. they only lived up one set of stairs and as he reached the platform, he turned to the door and stuck the key in, unlocking the door. he could hear fast footsteps coming from a little person and the thought brought a smile to his lips as he opened the door, taking a step inside watching his child race through the room as he shut the door. after taking only two steps into his small home, he felt his son run right into his legs and even as small tears started filling the boys eyes, he couldn't help but grin as he knelt down and scooped him up into his arms. "are you and mommy having fun?" he asked the boy as he kissed the tears off his cheeks. he smothered the toddler in more kisses planted in various spots on his face. he made his way towards chase, letting his lips brush against the side of her mouth. "how was your day?" tyler neglected to answer his question and instead reached out for chase, his tears were gone, but that didn't mean that the hurt had stopped.

Chase always feared that something bad would happen to Tyler if he ran through the apartment like the wild boy he was. What if he tripped and fell and hurt himself? She'd be so annoyed with herself and feel absolutely terrible beyond belief. His cry bothered her, it made her want to cry; and when he was hurt it hurt her a lot too. She was such a worry wart. The thing that scared her the most was Tyler's love of jumping off of the couch, that was the worst. She could live with him running about the place. Slipping wasn't the end of the world, but him falling on something and breaking his arm or splitting his head open. Now that was something she wasn't sure she could stand to see. Her smile was plastered on his face as she heard him do his thing happily.
The smile she had grew like a weed as she heard the front door open and she knew who it was. Chase grinned and started towards where she knew Mason would eventually be. Her heart sank as she spotted the tears on her baby boy's face, though her smile didn't falter even in the slightest. She loved to see him hold Tyler, seeing their dark hair colors matching... it was just so adorable. She heard Mason speak to their son and her heart fluttered a little bit in her chest. Chase bit her lip gently, wanting nothing more than to cling to them both and squeal happily. She stepped forward slowly and looked up at Mason as he kiss the wrong piece of her lips. Her grin shifted into an adorable pout, wishing that he'd just kissed her right. In her mind one of the cutest things was when Mason held their child like he did right now. All of those cute little kisses, it made her want to smile until she couldn't anymore.
A smile shifted back onto her face, "It was nice. I managed to get clothes on him." She said smiling happily, pulling Tyler into her arms gently. She pressed her lips against his dark hair gently for the umpteenth today. Her arms secured around his tiny body, holding him tightly to her chest. When it came down to it he was a huge mama's boy, well in chase's mind she was there was no telling what Mason thought he was. "Aww baby. Did daddy do something to you?" she asked with a playful glint in her eye, she continued planting gentle kisses on his soft hair. Chase took a tiny step forward and pressed her body against Mason. She hated being away from him for so long, it wasn't fun at all. She pulled Tyler up on her hip slightly higher than before. "How was your day?"
She asked looking up at him, cocking her head to the side a little. Tyler moved his head and buried it into Chase's shoulder, tilting his head so that he could sneak peeks at his father. [/blockquote] 502 WORDS YO.

mason watched as his girlfriend approached him, meeting halfway in the middle with their baby in his hands. he barely noticed the pout that her lips transformed into as he looked down at the toddler in his arms. oh, the things he would do for this child. he was amazing and perfect in every possible way, much like his mother was. chase was the only person he could talk to and know that he wasn't going to be judged in any way, shape, or form. she could do no wrong, and to her, neither could he. he knew that there was many things wrong with his personality and the way he held himself, but chase usually just turned the other cheek for him. he hadn't hurt her throughout their friendship or relationship, and he planned on keeping that status for as long as humanly possibly. the thought had been in his mind for awhile, but he actually wanted to propose to her sometime, but he couldn't actually save up the money for an engagement ring. it was too bad, really, considering he wanted so badly to be able to say that she was his forever. she was everything that he had ever asked for. she had set him straight and made him shape up his act, transforming him from an insecure child to a mature adult.
he looked down at the clothes tyler was wearing, his smile growing larger. "how much of a hassle was it trying to get the clothes on him?" mason's voice was gentle as he watched tyler be pulled out of his arms, looking at the two of them. right in front of him was the definition of his happiness. they were everything that mattered to him anymore, and he wanted nothing more than to be with them always, but he knew that that was no where near possible considering he had to work. the weekends were nice, though. he spent his time cooking breakfast and just being a family. the time that chase and tyler held was greater than any one else's. there was nothing he would rather do. he could've spent forever in this little apartment with them as long as he was guaranteed their company. it was crazy, though, how fast his little boy was growing up already. he had turned two not too long ago, and it wasn't until then that he had realized that time really did fly, and if you blink you could very well miss it. he knew that he had to stay involved constantly if he didn't want to wake up one day and realize that his two year old baby was graduated. granted, tyler probably wouldn't be two when he finally got out of high school, but mason would sure it would feel that way.
mason watched as tyler shook his head slightly as his mothers questions. a small smile tugged at the side of his lips as he wrapped his arms around chase's waist slightly, finally kissing her the right way as she held tyler in her hands. "i had an okay day. i wish i could've stayed home and been with you two, though." he said softly, kissing her lips again gently before touching tyler's head lightly.

Chase shrugged a little bit, "Well you know, once you got past the squirming, slippery little baby part it was pretty easy." She said nodding a little. Tyler hated clothes, it was a known fact in their apartment. He hated when Chase put them on, he hated when Mason put them on, he hated them when he was sleeping, and he hated them when he was playing, there was no other way to put it. She often found him naked spare his diaper in the morning when he was yelling to get out of his crib. She had to admit though, he was absolutely adorable when he was running around in his diaper... Well, he was cute all the time, but especially when he was running around like a mad man wearing nothing but his diaper. She kissed her son's hair gently, he had Mason's hair color and it was beautiful. There was nothing that she would change about anything right now in her world. She grinned up at Mason, rubbing Tyler's back a little after he answered her question. So cute.
She smirked up at him kissing him again gently, "Yeah, but you would have gotten sick of us and where would we be then?" she asked playfully. Chase knew without a doubt that Mason would never ever leave them. He was completely perfect to them and he loved them both, she knew that and nothing could convince her otherwise; well there were a few things, none that really ever crossed her mind for fear of them becoming a horrible, horrible reality. It was, however, a fact Mason would never turn into his mother and of that she was sure. He was a really good person and there was no one else in the world who was more worthy to be the father of her baby boy. She didn't want anyone else to be his father, Mason was irreplaceable and that was that. "And I wouldn't want you to get sick of me. I'd miss you too much." She winked a little, "Besides if you were here all day I wouldn't get to give you a welcome home kiss." Chase grinned triumphantly, kissing mason was amazing and something that she loved to do very dearly. It was something that she'd miss most if he ever decided to leave her, which was another one of those horrible things she wished that would never come true.
Chase move her head and rested it against Mason's body, she was really happy that he was home now there was no doubt about that. It made her almost sad that he had to work during the day, but she knew he had to. "Mama." She heard Tyler whine, wanting to make his presence known. He clung tighter to her shirt and pouted a little, it was completely adorable in more ways than she could ever count. In her mind he was the epitome of adorable, just like Mason was hot, handsome, and everything she really wanted in a baby-daddy. "What's wrong baby?" she asked kissing his tiny cheek gently. "Hunnnnggggyyyy." He whined pouting more.
